When the days get shorter and the snow looks down from the mountains into the valley, the air is fresh and clear.  This is a wonderful day for a winter walk through the snowy landscape.  Breathe in deeply and enjoy nature all around you.  The mild climate of Schenna also entices hikers during the winter season.  Those who enjoy skiing and toboggan runs will take pleasure in their holiday in the sunny and family-friendly ski area Meran 2000.  Only 4 km away from Schenna (using the ski bus), the Ifinger cable-car transports you directly onto the pistes. 
However, it not only snows in the mountains.  The village of Schenna and the spa town of Meran are also beautifully decorated during the pre-Christmas season.  Enjoy the famous Christmas Market.  After a long day outdoors, you can relax in the warm lounge during the evening or go to one of the numerous Wellness hotels and let them spoil you – soothing for your body, soul and spirit.  


Hiking & Nordic Walking
There are numerous walking and winter hiking trails with Nordic Walking markings in Schenna and 25 km of winter hiking trails at Meran 2000.  Snow-shoe hiking trips are also on offer. 
Visit the first all-year round toboggan run in South Tyrol and the longest one in Italy (at an altitude of 1,900 metres).  It is 1.1 km long and runs down the mountain offering pure action and a great natural spectacle.
