Merano Grand Prix Steeplechase

The 5000 metre (25 furlong) steeplechase on the Merano flat race course at Maia Bassa/Untermais is a highlight of the horse racing season and is combined with the Italian national lottery.

The annual Merano Grand Prix steeplechase has been captivating racing enthusiasts since 1935. There may be more famous racing events with higher prizes, but the each year Meran Forst steeplechase generates enormous enthusiasm and is especially dearly held among owners, trainers and jockeys.
